Housing Innovation Partnerships Edmonton
(HIP Edmonton 2016)

Managing Principal Architect Sherri Shorten founded the company in 2000 and registered the practice 2006. In 2016, SAS Architecture added focus to niche design markets such as sustainable development, affordable housing and climate action. Housing Innovation Partnerships Edmonton was established to develop new models of housing for our nation, to contribute this research to Canada’s National Housing Strategy. SAS Architecture regularly consults with communities and housing partners using integrated project delivery and visioning methods to generate highly successful, community accepted design and planning outcomes for clients. Sherri was the Project Architect on several recognizable projects: the National Housing Strategy, Halal Housing for Large Families; The Grove on 17- Affordable Housing Construction Services for Number Ten Architecture Group; renovations to the washrooms at the Peter Hemingway Pool; Grant MacEwan’s Allard Hall, building envelope detailing working with Reimagine; and Shumka Stage detailed design, Millenium Park, for Doug Carlyle Landscape Architect, to name a few.
